A Sparks man was convicted of charges he robbed a Sun Valley convenience store at gunpoint last January. Prosecutors with the Washoe County District Attorney’s office say 38-year-old Kalum Marcell Fortune was convicted on robbery and burglary charges following a week-long trial. He had been charged with robbing the B and T market on January 24th. Prosecutors say Fortune broke display items and knocked over a cash register, cutting himself in the process. Blood evidence was used to identify him through the FBI database of D-N-A. He was arrested in February. Fortune could be sentenced to as many as 25 years at his November first sentencing.
