A Nixon woman is being arraigned in Bridgeport for a head-on crash that killed a Mono County man. September 9th, officers were called to a head-on crash on US-395 south of SR-89. Amelia Markarian of Nixon was driving her pickup northbound on 395 at the same time Christopher Harper from Coleville was driving his pickup southbound. Officers say Markarian hit a curve and crossed over the yellow line, hitting Harper’s truck head-on. Harper was pronounced dead at the scene. Markarian was flown by Care Flight to Renown Regional Medical Center for treatment, and then sent to Bridgeport for arraignment for being under the under the influence of alcohol.
