The Nevada Highway Patrol says a man who was hit and killed in Gardnerville was lying in the road before he was hit. 54-year-old Rosendo Ramirez Amaya of South Lake Tahoe was hit around 8:00 p.m. last Sunday on the northbound side of US 395 at Industrial Way in Gardnerville. The driver of a minivan hit Amaya and says he was unable to avoid it. The driver of the minivan remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
