Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman says it’s a very difficult time for her city, after at least 58 people were killed, and hundreds wounded in a hail of gunfire in an outdoor country music show, on the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. Goodman praised local law enforcement and first responders she calls “phenomenal” and says everyone is working hard to care for those injured, and their distraught family members.
She says the entire community that is Nevada is coming together to donate blood and help out however they are able. Goodman says the act and insanity of a madman shall not define us or keep us from living whole and meaningful lives with pride in our shared humanity.
