Cutter Fire Has Burned Over 16 Hundred Acres

Sierra Front is reporting some structures could be threatened by the Cutter fire in Douglas County, but there are no reports of evacuations. The fire started shortly after noon Tuesday. Investigators say someone accidentally it with a chain saw. Bureau of Land Management says the Cutter Fire has burned about 1697 acres, and the fire is 50% contained as of Wednesday afternoon. The fire is northeast of the intersection of Highway 395 and Leviathan Mine Road, south of the Gardnerville Ranchos.
