Man Killed in Crash Had Illegal Amounts of Marijuana in His System

A man killed near Dayton in a crash with a parked Nevada Highway Patrol vehicle had illegal amounts of marijuana in his system, according to a Reno Police investigation. Police say 75-year-old Jack Mynear of Dayton had been driving east on US 50 about five miles east of Dayton in a BMW sedan when he crossed the median and began going east on the shoulder of the westbound lane. He then hit an NHP vehicle parked on the westbound shoulder. The NHP trooper, who was not identified, is still recovering from injuries sustained in the June crash and is expected back to work before the end of the year.
