A driver survived after being hit by a train near Derby Dam last night. According to officials, the man’s car was on the tracks east of Derby Dam just after 11 o’clock. He was still in the car when a Union Pacific train collided and pushed him about half a mile westbound. REMSA treated the man on scene. The extent of his injuries is unknown, but he is expected to be okay. It’s unclear why the car was on the tracks, but law enforcement believes alcohol may be a factor.
