The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and Join Together Northern Nevada are working with community partners this Saturday, to help people rid their homes of potentially dangerous and unwanted prescription drugs. Medicines that remain in home cabinets are highly susceptible to misuse and abuse. Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday residents can bring unneeded prescription drugs, liquids, pet medications and sharps to Raleys on Wedge Parkway, CVS in Damonte Ranch, Save Mart on North McCarran, Smith’s on Lemmon Drive and Scolaris on Caughlin Parkway in Reno, and in Sparks at CVS on North McCarran Boulevard, and Walgreens on Vista Blvd.
