Nevada Settles a Wrongful Death Suit For $93,000

The Associated Press is reporting, the state of Nevada has agreed to pay $93,000 to settle a wrongful death suit. It was filed by the family of a 27-year-old Army veteran who was suffering from PTSD when he hanged himself in prison last year, he allegedly wasn’t properly monitored in custody, and his family says he didn’t get the mental health care he needed. As part of the settlement, the state Department of Corrections has agreed to implement suicide training for employees, with special emphasis on needs of combat veterans.
