Burners Donate Temporary Housing to California Fire Victims

(KOH) – Thousands of people have been displaced by the northern California wildfires, and donations have flooded in, like those from our Nevada Cares NorCal Fire Relief Drive. But how do you replace your home?

Burners without Borders is donating shipping containers which have been converted into temporary housing. Camp Epic, a theme camp at Burning Man, is calling their project Oasis Village.

They’re looking to provide housing for up to 75 victims. The containers will have electricity, air conditioning and a refrigerator, and room for 4 people to sleep. The destination is a lot in Santa Rosa, where bathrooms and showers have already been set up.

The Burners are looking for more donations such as RVs, tents or camper trailers, or cash to cover transportation costs. If you can help, go to burnerswithoutborders.org for more information.
