Drug Trafficker Faces Possible Life Sentence

A Reno man convicted of drug trafficking of more than 40 grams of methamphetamine by a Washoe County jury, now faces a possible life sentence. He may be sentenced as an habitual criminal because of five prior felony convictions. According to the Washoe County District Attorney’s office, 33 year old Brian Anthony Caperonis was found guilty of one count of trafficking of a schedule I controlled substance, over 28 grams. Caperonis was arrested on June 24, 2016 after a routine traffic stop when a Reno Police Department Patrol Officer stopped a car in the area of East 4th Street. He was a suspicious passenger in the vehicle, and had Meth hidden in his underwear.
