Two people were killed in a mining accident in Humboldt County. According to Humboldt County Sheriff Mike Allen, the Marigold Mine in Valmy, west of Battle Mountain, issued a mayday call around 2:15 Tuesday afternoon. Multiple agencies responded including the HCSO, Winnemucca Police Department, Nevada Highway Patrol, and Nevada Division of Investigation The accident happened on the mine site. According to NHP Trooper Jim Stewart, there was a collision between a large mine truck and a shuttle. Mine operations are suspended during the investigation.
