Pilar Biller, an art teacher at Damonte Ranch High School was named the Nevada Teacher of the Year by the Nevada Department of Education. Superintendent of Public Instruction Steve Canavero says “Pilar is a great example of a teacher who has devoted her career to finding better ways to create and provide engaging lessons for her students.” Other finalists announced by the Nevada Department of Education were: Mark Leamy a music teacher at Doral Academy Charter School. Rachel Leach 6th grade teacher at Silver Stage Middle School, Katherine Kareck, math teacher at Reed High School, and 5th grade teacher Aaron Grossman at Roy Gomm Elementary.
