It’s Time to Click-It or Ticket in Washoe County

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and other Nevada law enforcement agencies are joining forces to heighten enforcement of seat belt violations as part of ongoing efforts to increase traffic safety. Through December 2nd, the Sheriff’s Office, along with the Reno and Sparks Police Departments and Nevada Highway Patrol will dedicate extra personnel specifically to look for drivers and occupants in vehicles who are not wearing their seatbelts, and children who are not properly secured in a car or booster seat.  They says seat belts are for protection. Agencies participate in Joining Forces events are using increased enforcement, and awareness, to save lives. Funding for the extra patrols is made possible by a Joining Forces grant received from the Nevada Department of Public Safety-Office of Traffic Safety.
