You’re invited to the 2nd Annual Marnell Holiday Tree Lighting on Victorian Avenue in front of the Nugget Casino Resort this Friday, at 6:30 pm. There will be free hot chocolate, cider and coffee, plus a very special visit from Santa Claus. All ages are welcome. The Nugget will also make special donation presentations to a variety of local organizations. They include the Sparks Fire Department and Sparks Police Department. They’ll receive a contribution in support of their “Holiday with a Hero” program, which enables officers to escort local at-risk youth on a special holiday shopping trip to the Target at Legends at the Sparks Marina.
