Reno Felon Sentenced to Nine Years in Prison

A felon who illegally possessed a firearm and rammed into three police vehicles to avoid being caught has been sentenced to nine years in prison. 31-year-old Kyle Howe of Reno pleaded guilty to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. In addition to the prison term, U.S. District Judge Larry R. Hicks sentenced him to three years of supervised release. Howe admitted that last November 29th, he rammed into a police vehicle, then sped away. The next day, Howe rammed two police vehicles as Regional Crime Suppression Unit detectives tried to arrest him. Officers were then able to remove Howe from his vehicle and arrest him. At the time of his arrest, police found a 9mm semiautomatic pistol, a switchblade, and about 4.5 grams of methamphetamine.
