Three Key Heller Provisions For Veterans Pass Committee

The Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee passed legislation that includes three key provisions he authored to aid veterans in need of transplants, increase accountability for Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) employee bonuses, and bring medical scribes into the VA system. The three Heller provisions were approved by the committee as part of the Caring for Our Veterans Act of 2017, a bipartisan bill that streamlines and strengthens veterans’ health care at the VA and in the community to ensure efficient, timely, and quality care. Specifically, the legislation includes Heller’s VA Bonus Transparency Act, the VA Transplant Coverage Act, and the Maximizing Efficiency and Improving Access to Providers at the VA Act.
