Wrong-Way Driver Arrested by Sparks Police, Faces Variety of Charges

A woman was arrested on a variety of charges after she reportedly was seen driving the wrong way on Pyramid Highway Saturday evening. N-H-P troopers were dispatched to a report of a driver traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Pyramid shortly before six o’clock. Meanwhile, a Sparks Police Officer noticed a Jeep Cherokee S-U-V off the west of the highway near Disc Drive. Witnesses told the officer that the woman driver had been driving in the wrong lanes and then drove off the roadway and up a hill. Police say the woman, identified as 27-year-old Sabra Alis Bewley, was acting very erratically, dancing on the top of the car, and trying to leave the area on a child’s scooter. Police say she fought with officers trying to detain her. She was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, resisting arrest, and a variety of other charges. Bewley was taken to a local hospital before being booked into jail.
