Hundreds of local children get to “Shop with the Sheriff” this week thanks to the Honorary Deputy Sheriff’s Association. Two hundred and fifty children will be treated to a special holiday shopping spree during the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office 15th Annual Shop with the Sheriff from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Tuesday,) at the Damonte Walmart Superstore in South Reno. Thanks to an annual donation from the Washoe County Honorary Deputy Sheriff’s Association, each child has a chance to join Sheriff’s Office staff and volunteers for some serious holiday shopping for themselves, and their family.  The children are pre-selected through local social services agencies and partnered with volunteer shoppers from the Sheriff’s Office, Honorary Deputy Sheriff’s Association and volunteers from the community.
