Churchill County Opens New Law Enforcement Center

Churchill County has just opened the doors to their brand new $17 million dollar Law Enforcement and Detention Center. Pete Olsen with the county says the old location was built in 1973, and could only hold 53 inmates at a time. The new location will add room for 120 criminals, with a number of updated features. It also improves safety for employees. The 39,000 square foot building also houses an upgraded dispatch and 911 center, a modern security system equipped with electronic touch screens, and was paid for with a loan from USDA Community Facilities program.
