(KOH) – The Reno Fire Department responded this morning at 1:40 AM to the 1300 block of Stardust St. for an apartment fire. While en route, there was a report of 2 people trapped on the 3rd floor balcony. The first unit arrived within 3 minutes to find at least one apartment fully engulfed. The fire claimed 2 people’s lives and a pet. The American Red Cross is working to address the needs of the residents who were displaced. The fire is being jointly investigated by Fire officials and Police for suspicious circumstances. Damage done to the building is extensive and several units will be shut down for a an extended period. The third floor of the apartment building is now uninhabitable.
