State Treasurer Calls on AG to Resign or Drop Governor’s Race

Nevada State Treasurer Dan Schwartz, who’s running for Governor against Attorney General Adam Laxalt, stopped by the Dan Mason Show Friday to say that Laxalt is continually deceptive, lining his pockets with campaign coffers with money from lobbyists, rather than listening to the desires and fulfilling the wishes of his constituents. Schwartz also cited Laxalt’s issues with the gaming control board, and his call to Mayor Hillary Schieve telling the city of Reno not sue opiate manufacturers, as other reasons why Laxalt shouldn’t be elected. Laxalt was recently caught on tape pushing office staffers to push back on a political attack based on his refusal to pardon a man, who served more than two decades in prison for a murder he didn’t commit. Schwartz suggests Laxalt is unable to separate the political ambitions from his official duties. Schwartz is running for the GOP nomination for Governor. Laxalt backers call Schwartz’s resignation call, a “Laughable” political stunt.
