Whether and when Scott Dozier is executed is now in the hands of Nevada’s Supreme Court. The Clark County judge who delayed the execution says she’s done hearing arguments until the high court reviews her decision on the execution protocol. Judge Jennifer Tagliotti delayed the execution when she removed one of the three drugs in a never before tried lethal injection combination. Scott Dozier, a double killer, says he wants his death sentence carried out, and has resisted efforts to stop it. This isn’t just a Nevada issue, other courts have struggled to put together drug cocktails that are considered humane, while some drug companies resist, because they don’t want their pharmaceuticals used for executions.
