New Information Released in Reno Shooting

New information has been released about a man who suffered a gunshot wound to his leg Monday night. A witness on scene described a disturbance between her domestic partner Billy Murdock, his dog and another man and his dog. She told police the other man pulled out a handgun, and it was her belief he tried to shoot his own dog, when the two dogs began fighting. She reported the gun went off and her boyfriend suffered a bullet wound to his leg. Officers interviewed witnesses in the vicinity, reviewed evidence and then got a search warrant for Murdock’s room. The investigation revealed Murdock accidentally shot himself in the leg, and that there was no other man. Murdock injuries are not considered life threatening.
