Nevada’s recreational marijuana sellers had their best month yet in October with sales over $37.9 million. Overall marijuana sales yielded $5.8 million in tax revenue to the state, $1 million more than August. Nearly $3.8 million of the October revenue came from the 10 percent retail tax on recreational sales. That money goes to the “Rainy Day Fund.” The state also charges a 15 percent wholesale tax on all marijuana sales which goes to Nevada schools after the state and local governments take a share for their administrative expenses.
