Suspect Shot and Killed by Washoe County Deputy

A suspect has been shot and killed on Calle de la Plata north of Sparks just east of Pyramid Highway. The shooting happened after a vehicle stop, about 10 am August 4th. Reno Police Investigating Fatal Shooting at Paradise Park

Reno Police are investigating a fatal shooting at Teglia’s Paradise Park. Just before 4am, officers responded to reports of multiple shots fired at the corner of Paradise and Carville Drives. Major Trade Convention Coming to Reno Next Year

The Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority says the Reno area has booked the biggest trade convention it’s ever had. The Whites Fire burning near the Whites Creek Trailhead is now 50% contained, and the size remains 29 acres after being downgraded from the 60 acres. US Forest Service says lightning caused the fire. Three Suspects Arrested in Convenience Store Robberies

Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Detectives have arrested three suspects in last week’s armed robbery of a 7-Eleven store in Lemmon Valley. Carson Fire Crews Contain Wildfire Started by Fireworks

Crews contained a wildfire Thursday that was burning along C Hill in Carson City. Carson Fire says says the Garden Fire, first called the Greenhouse Fire, burned in the Curry Road area and charred about 20 acres. Investigators believe it was started by fireworks. Fatal Skydiving Accident in Minden

The Federal Aviation Administration and the East Fork Fire Protection District have confirmed two people were killed this morning in a skydiving accident in Minden. The accident happened near Heybourne and Firebrand Roads, along the northwest corner of the airport. Very few details of this accident have been released.MORE
