Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt announced seven arrests on 21 felony charges in a tire theft ring. According to the complaint, during his employment at the Department of Transportation, Anthony Canada, David Dinicola and others used State of Nevada credit cards to make illegal purchases of new tires. Then the now former employees of the Department of Transportation, would submit false work orders or labor hours to justify the purchases. The complaint says several of the suspects took possession of the tires. The alleged frauds were committed between December 2014 and April 2015. The state lost at least 35 thousand dollars in the scam, and that’s believed to be a low estimate. Other employees of N-Dot are questioning why it took more than two years to file charges. The investigation started under former AG Catherine Cortez-Masto.
