The appointment of a U.S. Attorney for Nevada, from Texas, is being called a slap in the face to Senator Dean Heller by the White House. Of 17 people appointed in various districts, only Dayle Elieson is from an outside state. Former US Attorney Bill Terry says it’s a snub to all Nevadans. Veteran defense attorney Tom Pitaro told the Las Vegas Review Journal “It’s an amazing thing. It almost boggles the mind to think that a sitting president goes around a senior senator of his own party. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such an obvious rebuke.”
