California Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that led to the death of a Sparks man. Shortly after midnight the morning of January 6th, the man was at the Soda Springs gas station in a pickup and left northbound through the parking lot. He left the road and went into a drainage ditch, then got out of the pickup and went to the passenger side, apparently trying to get out of the ditch. Officers say he was not able to get out of the ditch on foot, and was found unresponsive by another driver about eight hours later. Emergency personnel responded and determined he was dead. His name won’t be released until his family is notified.
