“One text or call could wreck it all.” That’s the poetic new slogan officers participating in the latest, “Joining Forces” traffic campaign have adopted. The latest multi law enforcement effort is a crackdown on distracted driving. Douglas County Sheriff Ron Pierini says he is especially concerned about the youth of our community, after a report from the Highway Traffic Safety Administration that 10 percent of drivers between 15 and 19 years old involved in fatal accidents were driving distracted. He says this is 100% preventable.
