The Federal Trade Commission and Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt have filed a complaint against the operators of MyEx.com, a website operating out of Nevada. The operators are charged with allowing users to upload explicit images of people without their consent, also known as “revenge porn.”
Revenge porn has been illegal in Nevada since 2015. Information posted included names, addresses, employers, and social media account information. MyEx.com is also accused of making victims pay between $500 and $2,800 to have their information removed from the site. According to the complaint, some victims lost their jobs and experienced online harassment after having their photos and info posted online.
