Gardnerville Man Arrested For Domestic Battery

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a Gardnerville man after he allegedly battered his girlfriend, including possibly dislocating her shoulder. 51-year-old Thomas Sims was booked on suspicion of domestic battery, battery causing substantial bodily harm and false imprisonment. The sheriff’s office went to a home in the 3000 block of Pinenut Road in Gardnerville Sunday after getting a call that a woman there may be being held against her will. Deputies talked to the victim and found that she had been threatened if she tried to leave. She was taken to a hospital for treatment. The sheriff’s office also took a gun from the home that Sims allegedly used to threaten the woman.
