Placer County Sheriff’s Office Release Name of Man Shot by Deputy

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of a man shot by a deputy early Sunday at North Lake Tahoe. 47-year-old Samuel Kolb of San Mateo’s condition has not been released, but he’s still in the hospital, and will be charged when he’s released with attempted homicide and assault on a peace officer. He is currently under 24-hour watch. The shooting happened around 4 a.m. January 14th in the 600 block of High Street in Carnelian Bay. There was a call to 911 of a person acting bizarre in a home. When deputies arrived, a man answered with a large metal barbecue skewer. According to investigators, the man ignored commands to drop the skewer and lunged at the deputy.
