Richie West has been released from jail after serving two years for a single count of conspiracy to obtain a controlled substance for distribution, according to his attorney David Houston. West was arrested in April 2016 when federal agents raided a car dealership and other locations looking for evidence of an opioid distribution ring. West and several other employees of the dealership were accused of selling pills out of West’s car. As part of a plea deal, West admitted guilt to the one charge and agreed to testify against Dr. Robert Rand, who received an 8-year sentence for involuntary manslaughter and drug charges. West is going to in-patient rehab. Upon his completion of rehab, West will be on 16 months of house confinement.
