An officer-involved shooting Wednesday night in Sparks is now under investigation by the Reno Police Department. It happened just after 10pm in the 1100 block of 15th Street. A Sparks police officer was attempting to make a traffic stop when the suspect jumped out of their vehicle and attempted to run. At some point a responding officer opened fire. Sparks Police have not confirmed if the suspect was hit by gunfire, but said there is no threat to the public at this time.
