Carson City Sheriff’s detectives have arrested a 13-year-old boy, accused of shooting his four-year-old brother in the head with a BB gun. The boy was flown to UC Davis in California for treatment and is in critical but stable condition. Doctors determined at least one BB had penetrated the skull and was embedded in the boy’s brain. The boy’s family originally told detectives that boys in the neighborhood were playing with airsoft or BB guns in the area of their home when a ricochet struck the boy. But detectives discovered the circumstances of the shooting were not what they had been told. Deputies returned with a search warrant, that’s when the victims 13-year-old brother admitted shooting him and hiding the gun in their garage, with the help of his cousin. The gun was recovered, and the 13-year-old was arrested for Battery With a Deadly Weapon Causing Substantial Bodily Harm.
