A robbery suspect is in custody after a standoff in the area of Redfield Parkway and Kietzke Lane in south Reno. The standoff began shortly after 9AM Monday. Police say the suspect was shoplifting food at the Walmart near that intersection, and showed a pellet gun to an employee, turning the incident into armed robbery. Police say he discarded the gun outside the store; officers have recovered it. After the robbery, police say the suspect, 26 year old Anthony Anderson sat on a sidewalk muttering to himself and was uncooperative with police. Police used a non-lethal beanbag to stun the man and made the arrest.
