Biggest Solar Project in America, Coming to Nevada

Clean energy advocates cheered the news that Nevada will soon be home to the largest solar development in the country, and the second largest in the world, after Switch announced a partnership with Capital Dynamics to build 1 gigawatt solar farm in Nevada. Switch, which has committed to power its data centers in Nevada with 100 percent renewable energy, said the solar project will produce enough power for 1 million homes and create 1,250 temporary construction jobs. Switch is only the latest big business in Nevada to announce it would make a large clean energy investment. With solar power cheaper than ever before, Nevada businesses are voting for clean energy with their wallets. Corporations point to cost savings, rather than environmental concerns, as their reasoning for going solar. The Gigawatt 1 project will be built in Northern and Southern Nevada.
