The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada celebrates the grand re-opening and ribbon cutting of its new secure entrance today. The Club is located at 1870 Russell Way in Carson City. Katie Leao, chief professional officer for the Club, said the new entrance will offer a protected entry and exit point for members, parents, vendors and community members, as well as provide broad reaching benefits. The $150,000 project was funded through a combination of local donors, community partners, and a $50,000 Renovation Across the Nation grant from the Lowe’s Foundation. The William N. Pennington Foundation’s grant upgraded security measures at the entrance including a state-of-the-art security system with cameras, a monitoring system, improved two-way communication devices and a lock down system.
