The Washoe County School Board will vote this week on whether to extend the contract of Superintendent Traci Davis. Davis’ contract with the school district expires June 30th. But Board President Katy Simon Holland told the Reno Gazette Journal that Davis’ job performance review is a sign as to how the board views the superintendent. The board boosted Davis’ rating to “accomplished” after the board chose to disregard results of an evaluation process conducted by a third-party firm, which gave Davis the second lowest-rating in a four-tier rating system. However, board members say Davis’ made an impact to this year’s record graduation rate, which were not specified in that evaluation. The board will vote Tuesday.
