NHP is working a fatal crash on US 50 approximately 35 miles west of Austin. The highway is blocked in both directions, and will be for most of the day. Motorists can use State Route 722 to bypass the crash. The crash between a tractor-trailer and a smaller vehicle was reported about 11:45 AM (Tuesday). The driver of the smaller vehicle is confirmed dead, there is no word of other injuries.
