The shooting by a Reno Police officer last February in downtown Reno was justified, according to Washoe County District Attorney Chris Hicks. The shooting happened at Ralston and West Streets. Officers found 35 year old Ronald Bailey stabbing a man with a knife. Instead of following the officers commands to stop and drop the knife, he attacked one of them. At that point Bailey was shot. He was later sentenced to 15 years on prison for battery with a deadly weapon and other charges.
