The Nugget in Sparks wants to donate a statue of a basque sheepherder that was displayed at the hotel casino for almost 20 years, to the University of Nevada. The scuplture, valued at 250 thousand dollars, was commissioned by the Nugget’s creator, John Ascuaga in 1998. The Nugget is updating the property and says the statue doesn’t fit into their plans.
