Cemetery Steps Up Security After Vandalism

When historic headstones were toppled over at Reno’s Hillside Cemetary in November, it sparked public outrage.
The vandals were never caught. Now they’ve installed motion-activated cameras and hidden them around the cemetery to improve security. Frances Tryon President of the Hillside Cemetery Preservation Foundation  tells KOLO 8, “We have got to be proactive about protecting our history.” The monuments that were destroyed can never be fully restored. But they were fixed thanks to the help of Mountain View Cemetery.
