The Lyon County District Attorney’s Office has chosen not to file charges against a man first charged for murder in Reno. 41-year-old Robert Eikelberger arrested February 23rd in connection with the death of 29-year-old Sierra Ceccarelli on Devonshire Lane. The killing happened December 9th, 2016. After the arrest, Washoe County District Attorney Chris Hicks determined there may be a conflict of interest with his department, since his extended family has a relationship with the extended family of Eikelberger. At that point, a request was put out for another jurisdiction to take over the prosecution, and Lyon County stepped in.  Their statement says ;”After reviewing the reports and information related to the case, the Lyon County District Attorney’s Office decided not to file charges in the case at this time. This does not preclude further review or consideration of the case at a later date.
