The Regional Gang Unit had a short standoff with a wanted suspect, after he was seen by a detective in the 800 block of Gentry Way, Thursday. The man with gang ties was wanted on a felony warrant. The Detective followed him Smithridge Drive and Filbert Road, where the defendant then ran from his vehicle and into a nearby home. The home was surrounded by members of the Reno Police Department, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, and Washoe County School Police. Officers with the Critical Incident Negotiation Team arrived on scene, made contact with the suspect and convinced him to surrender peacefully.
