The headline in a special report by the Reno Gazette Journal is startling: “Reno knew Lemmon Valley would flood, but it allowed development anyway.” And Lemmon Valley has flooded, and every storm that approaches creates new anxiety for residents. Anjeanette Damon of the RGJ, talked about it on Reno’s Morning News Extra, with Mitchell and Mason. She says more homes are on the way, even as many in the North Valleys remain surrounded by water that has no place to go. Now, about two million gallons of water per day are being pumped during winter, into a lake that is already flooded. Damon calls it “Mindblowing.” The story can be found at RGJ.com, and the March 13 Damon interview with Mitchell and Mason is available, “On Demand” at KKOH.com.
