Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested two drug trafficking suspects who tried to flee and fight. The first was 9:15 p.m. Friday, when a K-9 deputy tried to make a traffic stop on I-80 eastbound near Nugget Avenue. The deputy called for backup after his K-9 detected drugs. Deputies say the man tried to run, deputies, caught him, leading to a fight. The man even kicked the K-9, but was arrested. Drugs and a handgun were found in his vehicle. 27-year-old Kwamique Misa of Union City, California, was treated at a hospital, then booked into the Washoe County Jail. Then at 10:45 p.m. Saturday, a deputy initiated a traffic stop on Tahoe Boulevard in Incline Village. The passenger gave the deputy a fake name and took a folding knife from his pocket. The man put the knife on the hood of a patrol vehicle, and then ran. After a short chase, he started fighting with deputies, who were able to subdue him. 34-year-old Patrick K. Walsh of Tahoe Vista, California, was taken to a hospital in Reno for treatment of injuries sustained during the fight, then taken to jail, Two deputies were treated and released for injuries.
