The name of the new middle school in Sun Valley will be Desert Skies. The name was decided at Tuesday school board meeting. Other finalists were simply “Sun Valley,” and Michael Landsberry, he’s the heroic school teacher who died in a school shooting protecting students at Sparks Middle School in 2013. He was shot by a seventh grader, who wounded two students, then took his own life.
