BLM Postpones Meeting After Board Member Controversy

The BLM is postponing a meeting of the National Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Board. The meeting was scheduled March 27 and 28 in Salt Lake City, but only 15 days of notice were given instead of the normal 30 days. The BLM said the matter was urgent because the terms of three board members expire March 31, so the shorter notice was allowed. Without the three members, the committee would not have a quorum. One board member threatened to sue the agency over the short notice. The agency says the meeting will be rescheduled when new members are seated.
